Ali Maeve Sargent
I regularly work as a translator from Spanish and Portuguese into English. I lived and worked for a number of years in Mexico and Brazil, and my academic experience includes an MPhil in Latin American Studies at Cambridge University and a research fellowship in the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at King's College London.

I have a DipTrans qualification in the General Translation category, and have translated marketing, literary, culinary, academic and artist texts for exhibitions, as well as on audiovisual projects for broadcasters and streamers including Netflix, HBO, Channel 4, Al Jazeera English, The Guardian and others. My experience also includes as a consecutive interpreter for academics and journalists.
My translations have appeared in Latin American Literature Today and Africa Is a Country. I am a regular freelance translator for the award-winning Central American investigative news site El Faro.
I have previously attended a BCLT literary translation workshop with Daniel Hahn.
